The sound of a band in a solo performer...
My Background![]() My name is Francesco.
I was born in Italy and grew up in Florence where I started performing. Later I took the opportunity to move to Spain to complete my university studies and toured as a solo performer in bars and restaurants. In Spain I also made my first contact with flamenco music that opened up a world of new amazing sounds and left a strong mark on the way I write my songs and play guitar today. After Spain I travelled to the USA playing gigs from Chicago to New York. One of my favourite experiences was seeing an 80 year old Chuck Berry (Johnny Be Good) jumping like a cricket on the stage of the Blue Berry Hill Bar in St. Louis. Then I left USA and finally found my new home in Australia which thanks to its multicultural background let me come across many artists of very different kind who enriched further my music knowledge and my performing style. My Performances![]() Across the years I have been playing in acoustic trios, rock bands, Spanish duos, solo music halls and flamenco dancing groups. Nowadays I mostly do solo performances for weddings, corporate functions, private events and wineries where I sing, play instrumental guitar, harmonica and the stomp box.
Due to my various music influences I like to mix together many different songs during my performances. I can easily move from Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison to Gipsy Kings' Bamboleo, then I might pass under Dire Straits's Tunnel of Love and end up on Sting's Fields of Gold. After that I would give a glance to Simon & Garfunkel's Mrs Robinson and then sing Something Stupid. Whatever happens, with Gloria Gaynor I Will Survive. I 'd get a Kick Out Of You if you Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, and when I am Hungry Like the Wolf...I always keep some room for a few 80's tunes. This diverse repertoire is woven together seamlessly through intricate arrangements of a dynamic guitar and performance style. The influence of Latin music joins beautifully with contemporary music to add a vibrant energy and keep crowds with happy smiles all night. |
